Kalkan is on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and experiences much of the great weather this latitude has to offer.
Summer months can be both long and hot while the warm waters of the nearby sea offer a respite from the summer heat. The sea can be pleasantly warm to swim in most of the year. Although most of Turkey's coast offers near year round beach getaways, Kalkan is far from over developed and still offers a quiet and relaxing retreat in the sun that is still close to the sea.
